Easy Rider and Chopperguy

Thought I would throw in a quick note about my adventure last weekend.

On Sunday I decided that the tank had gotten a little low on the chopper. So that I wouldn't have to worry about it later in the week if I decided to go for a ride, I started her up and headed off to the station. On the way there, she started to sputter. Luckily she did this just in time for me to take an exit ramp. As soon as I hit the ramp, she ran out of gas. I pushed her UP the clover leaf and then another quarter mile to the gas station. Glad I tried to keep her light when building her.

Now for the rant. While pushing her down the street, several motorcyclists passed me. I saw sport bikes, cruisers, and tourers. I saw bikes from Japan, Europe, and even a couple of American ones. None of them stopped. None of them pulled over to see if I had the situation under control as I pushed my vintage chopper down the road. I can't believe that all of these people had somewhere important to get to late Sunday morning. As I pushed my bike into the gas station, two guys who had passed me on their crotch rockects sat at the pumps filling up. As most of you could probably guess, I don't like sport bikes. Not my thing. I also don't much care for Japanese bikes. While they have made some well engineered bikes, they just don't seem to create anything with a soul. I have my opinions on the matter. My dislike for these bikes would not keep me from pulling over to help out a guy having trouble with his Ninja. Those jerks need to go find a soul.
